Selmeston has been a place of human habitation for thousands of years. Its population has never been more than a few hundred but it has a history and archaeology that is surprisingly rich and diverse.  The following pages are intended to capture and share some of this, beginning with an overview and summary of the Village’s history and continuing with information on particular periods of interest.
